Preparation Time: 2 hours | Cooking Time: 1 hours

This easy peasy celery stuffing is stuffing at it's very best - bread, butter, celery and chicken stock combine to create a stuffing perfect for pairing with all sorts of meat dishes.

  • 500g sliced white loaf of bread
  • 175g butter
  • 1 onion
  • 4 celery stalks
  • 225ml chicken stock
  • 1 dstsp. poultry seasoning
  • Salt and pepper

  1. Finely chop the onion and celery stalks. Let the bread slices dry for 2 hours and then chop into cubes.

  2. Melt the butter in a large frying pan. Add the onion and celery and fry for 20 minutes until soft.

  3. Season with poultry seasoning and salt and pepper. Add the bread cubes and stir until coated. Add the chicken stock and stir until moistened.

  4. Bake in casserole dish for 30-40 minutes at 180C until golden.

If you like, use a stronger flavoured stock such as beef or pork stock for extra flavour. Recipe serves 4.
