Celery, Apple and Walnut Salad recipe

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

This autumnal salad makes the most of some simple ingredients - celery, apple, walnuts and blue cheese combine in a super simple dressing to create a delicious and nutritious salad that can be prepared in just ten minutes.


  • 1 head of celery
  • 1 large sweet apple
  • 100g blue cheese
  • 100g walnuts
  • 6 tbsp. sour cream
  • 3 tbsp. white wine vinegar


  1. Remove the outer leaves of the celery, then peel the stalks using a veggie peeler to create ribbons of celery.

  2. Mix the sour cream and white wine vinegar together and season to taste. Crumble the blue cheese and chop the walnuts. Slice the apple in half, remove the cored and then slice into matchsticks.

  3. Combine celery, apple, blue cheese and walnuts together and add the dressing. Toss to coat and serve.

If you like, add some chopped ham or cooked bacon to the salad for a little extra smokiness or savouriness. Recipe serves 4.
